XVP Laughlin Info

I will be in Las Vegas the first week in January. I have stayed in Laughlin once for three days this past summer. I like the community, and want to investigate property prices in the area. I will retire in 2-3 years and want to check out the area as a possible place to retire. When in Vegas in January, I plan to take a trip down to Laughlin, with my wife. Do they have any of the booklets listing property for sale in the area? If so were would I find them? Anyone have any pro's or con's about living in the area? Any info would be appreciate. If you want you can contact me offline, or on line. I just don't want to clog up the board with items that my not be of interest to other on the list. Thanks!

O.K., you have seen the summer in Laughlin, and you are still
interested. I was thinking about the exact same thing a year ago, but
I have decided against buying a home in Laughlin. I live in
California, and the home prices are half to one third the prices in
my area. Home prices are much higher in Laughlin than across the
river in Bullhead City. If you are interested in real estate, do an
online check, and you will find lots of homes available in the
Bullhead City area, and it will give you an idea of the real estate
market in the area. I did stopped by a real estate office in the
Laughlin towne center, and picked up some real estate listing books.

There are lots of new homes being build in Bullhead City and Fort
Mojave. Take a tour of some of the homes. So, why did I decide to not
buy in the Laughlin area? With rooms at the casinos in the $20/night
range, I can stay dirt cheap in Laughlin. Why would I want to buy
when I can "rent" so cheap. The summers are too long, and I can come
home to where the heat is not so intense.
