I don't know what to make of Casino. Part seems real, part seems "reel".
For example - a problem gambler hocks his police gun, then his wedding ring,
might lose his wife, gets help. But I doubt strongly that the filming
occurred in that actual order. Would a man get filmed saying "I don't want my wife
to find out how much I'm losing." (or words to that effect) and then later
get help? If you don't want your wife to know - why would you be filmed??
NOw maybe he could recreate scenes that really happened in his life but.....
Then there is the silly, stupid, newly-minited host, Tommy. He seems to
have gotten his job only through nepotism. It seemed so improbable that he
could be a host that I asked about him at the Golden Nugget a couple of weeks ago
and was told he still works there, as a Junior Host. So he is real. And
the film of him taking a client to Tony & Tina's Wedding and getting completely
drunk really looked real. But why on earth wasn't he fired? Anyone else
would have been for such disgraceful behavior with a client, not to mention the
stupidity of getting that drunk on film, and the lack of responsibility of
missing an important meeting with another client (about the Bachelor party).
And why would anybody want to/agree to be filmed and then act so stupid and
get so drunk? Tommy obviously is totally immature - but could this be
scripted? Or is he really that dumb? And even if scripted, since he is a real
person, and a real host, why would he (or the Golden Nugget) want him seen in
this light. I figure this part could not have been scripted, because no one
would want this filmed (except for the producer of the show).
But gee - Golden Nugget - is this really the sort of guy you want
representing you as a host? I don't want this idiot as my host!! I just can't believe
he is still any sort of host. But he actually is!! ??? Bizarre.
There are lots more incidents of strange stuff going on in this and previous
episodes I'd love to talk about but I don't want to start a huge discussion
of this show.
I'll just add one point - in last week's show, or the one before, where
there were a bunch of bachlorette girls partying... (they ended up partying with
some guys having a bachelor party who had 2 strippers) -- I recognized one of
the women as an actress I've seen before (not a major actress). So one
wonders just how many of these people may be actors??? How much of this show is
scripted and not real? The producers claim it is all real and it is billed
as a reality show. But..... I've got a lot of doubts.
