XVP - Las Vegas Hilton room fridge fee

Were your rooms comped? Did they tell you about the charge at checkin? Could
you have checked with a host?
It is quite an insult.

Yes, I was on a three night offer and I was told about the charge at
checkin. Yes, I was told at checkin I could check with a host who
might take care of it. And yes it was quite an insult therefore I did
not play any while there and used the three days to establish play
elsewhere.

I'm just curious. Do you fly to Vegas? If so, how do you keep your medicine cold for the travel?

Thanks,

Matt

Thanks for asking. I fly and use a cooled travel pack that easily
fits in my carry on laptop computer bag. The travel pack keeps it
cool enough for several hours. The medicine I need refridgerated,
Byetta, is a non-insulin diabetes control drug. It is supplied in
needle pen form that makes it easy to transport. The pen is a thirty
day supply. During the thirty days the medicine can be
unrefridgerated up to six days total. Too long for my two week LV
trips so I make use of hotel room fridges.

Byetta works very well for me. If anyone wants to know more about
Byetta contact me privately.

Hi Don

If you don't mind, where are you switching to? I was just thinking of
moving to LVH. I've been staying at the Stardust. However, I have been
thinking of staying at some other property when I travel to Vegas in
November. It is not long; the Dust will be dust.

Where to stay/play depends on what one wants from their Las Vegas
experience. My goal is to have room/meals comped while playing a
skill game in a safe, clean environment. Amenities and gourmet meals
are less important to me.

I am in Las Vegas every other month for two to three weeks and use
several casinos. I primarily play .25 & .50 10/7DB and .25 FPDW.

Currently my A list is Orleans, MSS and Fiesta H. My B list is Sunset
Station and Tuscany.

LVH was on my B list. During my recent LVH stay I played several
hours at Boulder Station. I asked a host to check my play for future
consideration and got a favorable response. I also played some at
SouthCoast and may use some offers I am getting from them.

Hope this helps

Hi Don

Interesting. I always rent a car when I go Vegas. I liked Stardust
because the parking is easy. Mostly just drive up to door. LVH is
great also. Park in the sports book lot. Mostly easy to park there.
One exception is during gaming show in September. Lots of locals
drive over to Hilton and walk to convention center. Many also stay at
LVH during show. Parking isn't so bad at some of the other places if
you know where to park. When I used to stay at Mirage, you get to
know what floor to park on. In and out fast. I like the Orleans too.
My wife is not crazy about it. They don't seem to send many good
offers. Sometimes I'll get a 3 or 4 day offer for rooms. But they
don't seem to be flexible enough for me to use them.

So I look for:

1. Playable or almost playable machines and CB.

2. Good room offers are important. Clean hotel a must. Room upgrades
are welcome. One of the reasons I got away from LVH is I didn't like
rooms. It's nice though, can't put a handle on why I don't care for
it. Also Stardust would comp me 7 or 8 days. Why move? Moving is easy
if you got a car, but it's still a pain.

3. They gotta feed me. I can do the gourmet eating in AC, but if I'm
playing in Vegas and I have enough in comp account to eat gourmet;
I'll use the comp. Also, I'll drain comp at shops if can use comps
for shopping.

4. I'll see a show if it's something I like. Not high on my list.

5. Now I am looking for another place other than LVH. I think I'll
lean toward LVH as base casino. I'll want to split my trip up half &
half. Next visit is 8 days, I booked air today. Might even take an
evening in Laughlin. Haven't been there in years.

Cheers.....Jeep
