When ever friends come to town and we go from hotel to hotel via cab, for
example Gold Coast to Hard Rock, the first thing the cabbie asks is "Where ya
from?" My friends say from where ever and I always yell out. "I'm from Vegas,
DON'T TAKE THE TUNNEL." I mean it as a joke but sometimes the cabbie get's
very defensive.
A visiting friend told me of taking a cab from downtown to the then open
Castaways. Straight shot down Fremont right? No. The cabbie went east on Fremont
RT Maryland Pky, LT Sahara, LT Boulder Hwy
I was at the Walmart on Tropicana near Pecos on the eastside of town. An
English couple staying at the Venitian got into a cab. The cabbie headed due
east on Tropicana instead of west. I can imagine how many extra miles that was.
JT, sometimes he wakes up at 3am and realizes he's in Vegas and gets hungry
for a prime rib dinner.
