Taxis now have both a price increase and fuel surcharge amounting to 45 cents a mile on top of very high flag drops already. By adding 45 cents a mile, even if the taxi gets only 15 miles a gallon they are getting an additional $ 6.75 a mile. Being that the price of gas at the older prices was already built in to the fares, they get close to 50% more than the new cost of gas. If they were honest and didn't take the tunnel from the airport or longhaul passengers it would be one thing, but a warning to all to avoid them! There are many better options to get around from he excellent CAT system, to free casino shuttles, to having your host arrange pickup with reasonable play.
