This is way off topic --- but it's very quick and will bring
most of you a chuckle.
Yesterday Kobe Bryant scored 81 points --- a huge amount --- and
broke the existing Laker record (71 points) set by Elgin Baylor in 1960.
I was a 13-year-old at the time, living in the Los Angeles suburbs, and
the Sports page was required reading.
When one of his teammates at the time, "Hot" Rod Hundley (known
more for his practical jokes than his basketball prowess --- although he
was in the NBA for several years so how bad could he have been?) was
asked what he thought of the game, he responded, "It was GREAT. I was on
fire and so was Elg! Between us we hit 73 points!"
