XVP JPEG viewer

I did buy a new laptop from Dell and I am now unable to view JPEGs as
there is no viwer associated with it.

How do I associate something that will view JPEG's. What viewer must
I have?

Thanks for all of your previos help

For very basic items, use Paint. It can be found in Accessories in My
Programs.

You need to open windows explorer, tools, folder options, file types.
If there is no jpg/jpeg listed you can add them and point them at an
application. Depending on OS, probably Windows XP there are a couple
of Microsoft image viewers to choose from.

What suite was bundled with it? If none, do you have a suite to install?

A suite is a big fancy hotel room with a large washroom and a separate sleeping area. :sunglasses: .
When purchasing a new computer, you usually receive a set of basic productivity tools with it.
The most common of which would be Microsoft Works which includes a basic word processor. There is also the available Microsoft Works Suite, which includes Microsoft Word among other items. Both of these products are collectively referred to as suites. Other software manufacturers put out competing items, such as Lotus Smart Suite which is a similar product.

Dell usually packages their computers with a version of "Wordperfect" . This is not a suite and may not have the capabilities that you require.
Go to http://www.tucows.com/ and do a search on "jpeg viewer" you will find many (freeware, shareware) products available for free downloads.

Save a jpeg picture from the newsgroup or from your email program to
the desktop, right-click the file you just saved, and choose
"Properties." In this screen, you will see the type of file (it will
probably say JPEG image). Under that, it says "Opens with" -- choose
that button. Select Internet Explorer or Paint from the list of
programs.
