XVP-hotwire/priceline

Thanks Babe - but I did not write that. I wrote the reply. All of my PL
experiences have been quite satisfactory - some spectacularly so. I've heard
negatives about HW's ratings, though.

I have never had the nerve to use hotwire or priceline for
a hotel room as it appears you do not know what hotel you get until
you pay for it. Am I wrong and paranoid?

Hi ez,

The one and only time we used priceline.com, we had a VERY
satisfactory experience.

We required a last minute reservation in Miami, for a Cub's playoff
game. Most hotels in the area were sold out. We looked up the
names of all 4* hotels in the area we wanted to stay in. There were
only two, either of which would have been fine. We then went on
line and selected a 4* star hotel in that area. We received the
Sofitel, which was absolutely lovely. We were surprized it didn't
have a 5th star! Our rate was only $100 per nite. Really a great
bargain!

I would use them again w/o hesitation, provided I did a little
research ahead of time.

Best regards,

Babe
