XVP-hotwire/priceline

Greetings, I have never had the nerve to use hotwire or priceline for
a hotel room as it appears you do not know what hotel you get until
you pay for it. Am I wrong and paranoid?

That's correct at least on hotwire. Very nice example of market
segmentation and capturing the consumer surplus.

Oh, BTW, if you use such a service, please submit a report with the
full hotel description as provided by hotwire or priceline, so that
other members can possibly recognize the hotel and possibly get
exactly the hotel they want for cheaper.

Priceline data is available at BiddingForTravel.com!

Members disclose brand, price, dates, number of days,
follow-up reports.... on airlines, hotels, and cars.

Lurking requires no registration.

Jean-Baptiste,

Where is your sense of adventure? If you are a gambling man, then you take a chance. I have done this for hotels in Chicago and Houston and have never been disappointed. I go through expedia.com and they give a choice of which type of hotel you want and the area of town you want to stay. That gives you an idea of what you will be getting right away. Go for it.....you can put up with anything for two or three days!
Cheers!
Bonnie

Haha, good point!

Let's say that my wife spends a lot more time in any hotel room than I
do, and that she's very picky about details like having high-speed
internet access in her room. Her sense of adventure is far less
developed than mine!
