XVP HELP

Suddenly my screen is so dark that I can barely see the icons. How do I lighten and brighten it?

The brightness of the screen is not controlled by Windows but by your Monitor. Play around with the buttons on the front of the monitor and max out the brightness. Another method is to turn off your computer, and re-seat your video card, and make sure the vid cable connections are real tight.

Are you talking desktop or laptop machine?

Desktop monitor is usually controlled with the button on the front of
the monitor.

My old laptop had a slider adjustment for contrast and brightness. I
suspect the newer ones might have a menu option for controlling
contrast and brightness. Probablly same thing for flat screen desktop
monitors.

Give us some more info.

Since you say this happened "suddenly", I fear that another
possibility is that something has burned out inside the monitor. I
had this happen to me once. Nothing for it but to replace the
monitor.

Sadly, this also happened to me. Consider taking the monitop in for a quick test (sometimes free) at a computer shop.
