XVP - Help w/Hotel and Restaurant Recommendations at/near the NW Indiana Casinos

I'll be traveling to Indianapolis at the end of March (for the NCAA
Final 4). I've been to Vegas many times (normally stay and play VP at
the Golden Nugget) but never to NW Indiana. I would appreciate your
thoughts about a nice and safe hotel to stay at and thoughts for good
restaurants for seafood and/or steak. I'll have a rental car so
driving is not an issue. By the way, what amount of VP is required
for a comped room or casino rate at Resorts in East Chicago? Thanks in
advance for your help.

Dave

You'll probably find that the Resorts hotel is the best in the area. I
haven't stayed there since Resorts took over, but the rooms are very good.
Second choice would be in the Trump (Majestic Star now) hotel. Standard
motel type rooms, but they have been redecorated recently. The easier comp
and better vp is probably at Majestic, but I don't have much information on
Resorts these days.
