Unfortunately this does not seem to be an item that
gets comped.
I am looking to obtain and (yikes) pay for medical
insurance.
Does anyone in VPFree land have personal experience
with shopping for insurance and do you have any
suggestions.
If it matters, I am single, non-smoker, no pre-existing
conditions, and 47 years of age.

I do not have insurance through an employer, instead I use Assurant
Health (www.assuranthealth.com). I don't know if they are the best or
not.

the 3+ years I've been self employed. That hasn't stopped the cost of
my premium from doubling over the same time period. I now pay over 180
