XVP: Good Pizza in Vegas

Does anyone know where one can find GOOD pizza in Las
Vegas? Hopefully in a locals casino, but if
it is good enough, I might actually part with a few
bucks to buy one. I have eaten the Pizza at Ellis
Island and the Palms and found it to be pretty mediocre.
The other pizza I have eaten was not even that good.
I have tried Barley's, the pizza at the Fiesta (yuck)
and a place at the Palace Station. Maybe it was Villa Pizza,
I'm not sure. I will admit that the calzone at the
Pizza Regina (Palms) was fairly good, but I don't
seek those out much.

I am not one of those who feels the only good pizza is
in New York. I like several styles, but it does have
to be good for the style it is supposed to be.

By the way, anyone who answers 'Pizza Hut' need not
respond. Its not bad pizza. In fact, it is pretty
decent. Sadly, it is better than anything I have
found in LV so far, but it is far from a truly good
pizza.

QZ is looking for good pizza in Las Vegas:

The best pizza I have eaten in Las Vegas was at Metro Pizza - 1395
East Trop. I prefer thin crust (Wooster Street) pizza, but you can
also request thick crust. The pizza @ Enzos @ 2724 N. Green Valley
Pkwy is reputed to be excellent as well.

This is a little off topic but I MUST respond because we're from Jersey
(worked in New York) and now reside in California and still can't find good
pizza.
We're thinking of relocating to Vegas in the not so near future and compared
to CA, every place that you mentioned has better pizza than here.
Unfortunately though, so far, we haven't found east coast style pizza in
Vegas either but I think it exists just based on how many people have moved
there from the east coast. We're going there between the holidays and we'll
try some places out and note them for you.
We actually do remember liking the bar type pie from MSS but a bar pie is
diifferent than a typical pizza. (many don't understand the difference).

We'll keep you informed.

Good thing you didn't ask for bagels or Chinese food.
Try Spago's (not exactly real pizza) Hollywood's was good, don't know about
LV.
No good pizza in NYNY (the casino)?

As for LA... Gotta go to Abbots Pizza Co. in Venice, Ca. (Hope it's still
there)
Maybe even worth the drive from LV.
Damiano's is 2nd choice

stu in sf (good pizza here, tomasso's, pauline's, arinells, mozzarella
dibuffalo, zante's indian pizza)

Triple Seven's pizza (at MSS) is pretty good indeed. Not sure what you
mean by a bar pie.

Incidentally, I'm looking for a Chicago style pizza like that served
at Gino's East in the Windy City. Chicago Brewing serves a very small
one.

For good info on this subject go to http://www.chowhound.com and click on
your city/region. It's mostly reviews and opinions from locals about
their favorite eateries, and includes everything from local hamburger
stands to the finest restaurants. Personally I've found tons of
great new leads there. Vegas like many other cities has its own page.

As a New Yorker I do feel that we had the best pizza in the universe and I've always looked for some that is close. Here in LV I've found it at Villa Pizza, at least the location at Windmill and Pecos (in the Texaco station). It is as close to NY pizza as any I've found. I have heard their other location is not as good but I don't know this from experience.

My son likes "New York Pizza and Pasta" at 2400 S Jones. It's full of New York-sounding staff and New York-sounding patrons, so I guess it's authentic New York fare. On the other hand, I don't care for it. But I'm from Albuquerque, so what do I know?

I would have no problem with a pizza covered with, say, $10K of his
winnings (no need to get greedy). Money covered with cheese and tomato
sauce is still legal tender in a bank, I'm sure.

Hi. The Las Vegas Review-Journal poll shows Pizza Slut as the readers' favorite. The staff prefers Northside Nathan's at 7531 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
   I'm trying to cut back on dairy, so I don't eat much pizza. But about 15 years ago, I had one at Batista's Hole in the Wall, off the Strip behind the Barbary Coast. (Koval and Flamingo, I think) I ate in the restaurant, not the carry-out section, and remember it being very good. They were quite generous with the cheese.

we like Metro Pizza - mainly cuz I like to color on the tablecloth ((for
those of you who haven't been there the table covering is a big sheet of
paper and they give you a bucket of crayons). some of us never grow up :slight_smile:

We've eaten at Battista's several times ( we like to hear Vinnie play the
accordion), but we've never tried the pizza - might do that next time.

   I'm trying to cut back on dairy, so I don't eat much pizza. But about

I'm a local that likes MSS Triple Seven's pizza, but is looking for
better if I can find it, anywhere in town. I miss Gino's East in

While all of you have been discussing mundane matters like....PIZZA, it may
interest you to know that I have been trading a few private emails with fans
of....EGGS BENEDICT!!

I will try to get these fine people to share their thoughts in this group,
as I have, but...well, you know how eggs Benedict people can be. I guess
pizza people and eggs Benedict people will never see eye to eye. Some of
them have privately admitted to me that they're afraid of incurring the
wrath of the pizza people and so have remained silent.

BTW, the Sahara was threatening to sue a few pizza places for leaving their
coupons all over the hotel. Should be some sweet deals! ; )

I've read some of these posts with great interest. The absolute worst Eggs
Benedict in the LV area, IMHO, are at the coffee shop at the Nevada Landing
in Jean. When I last ordered them, they were covered with a mustard-type
sauce. Imagine mustard on eggs! They were inedible, and I send them back
(actually, I think I ordered something else).
