Try Uncle Angelo's Pizza Joint at Jerry's Nugget.
Best Italian food for the price I've had in town.

I am not surprised. I am from Philadelphia originally. South Philadelphia has many italian people. It had an Italian Market made famous by the Rocky movie. Some of the most wonderful food you could eat was found in a neighborhood family owned store. Every now and then a fancy pricey restaurant would pop up and gain a wide following.almost like a tourist trap. However it was the small off the beaten path mom and pop place or local bar that were the real treasures. If the food was not any good which was next to impossible to even imagine the place would never last. Not in a proud italian environment. Thank goodness for our italian people and their wonderful food.
