XVP Gas up 40 cents in 3 days

I don't normally post much but I just had to say this. I'm on Long Island,
in NY. Last night we drove to visit someone. On the way there we passed a
gas station that had regular at $2.99. Two hours later, on the way home, it
was $3.31. It went up 32 cents in two hours.

I also live on Long Island and saw the same thing. It is just the beginning
as NOTHING is getting down the Mississippi. No gas, no grain, no wheat, no
supplies- NOTHING. And that is nothing compared to the human cost of all
those stranded people. Paying a higher price for gas is mute in comparison.
But I must say that those oil companies that post record earnings should
contribute until it hurts, just as we are asked to do (and will).

Wonder if perhaps this is a reaction to the next hurricane in the Gulf
and the potential for it to further disrupt supply. My guess is the
oil rigs are empty again.
