XVP/FWBR post!: Bally's Sunday champange brunch

FWBR refers to a Fluffy White Bunny Rabbit post: one that NO ONE
could consider the LEAST bit controversial.

The Bally's Sunday Champagne Brunch is the last bastion of what is
an unfortunately dying Vegas icon: the insanely overpriced, grossly
self-indulgent, lavish Sunday gourmet buffet spread. Since I had a
couple of hundred "comp dollars" in my Connection Club account, and
since I'd essentially spent the whole week in bed with a bad cold, I
decided to indulge myself....

The price of this damn-the-diet extravaganza is a modest $58/person.
It does, however, include all the champagne you can drink (Chateau
Le Pussyfoot-Fromage du le Lac Merde or something like that, but it
tasted GREAT). They even serve it to you while you're waiting in
line, to be seated by an authetic tux-clad maitre'd with an
authentic European accent and attitude! Inside, a lavish buffet
awaits, of decidedly gourmet stripe. I won't bother relating the
individual dishes to you (the day's menu can be seen online at their
website), as they change from week to week, but suffice it to say
this was some of the best food I've ever eaten, in a buffet or
otherwise. Not all dishes were top quality, but most were. I never
made it as far as the desserts, but they looked good.

All in all, I would say the experience was worth the money (or comp
value), as a "one-shot" at least. Come here when not being able to
move for the next six or so hours won't be a problem.

I thought the Champagne they served at the Sunday Sterling Brunch at
Bally's was Perrier Jouët. Was I wrong, or have they recently
downgraded that too?

Any comments = is it a fair value for the $$$$$ prices??

We were comped once at Delmonicos. We always thought it was one of
the best meals we ever had. We had the best salmon that I have ever
had and the best rib-eye. With drinks and salads the bill was
$125. This was about a year ago.

Can anyone recopmmend a host at Mirage? Going with a group that is staying there, so it looks like i'll be playing $ 8/5/bonus.

I have heard people recommend Bobby Acevedo but I cannot.

The last time I was there, Mirage renegged on a double cash back
offer (where they had told you to bank your points and redeem them at
the end of the offer period of a couple months) and he showed me he
couldn't have cared less. I was a 50-70k per day player there and
haven't been back since.

I don't need "good" treatment - I just don't want to be crapped on.

  Can anyone recopmmend a host at Mirage? Going with a group that

is staying there, so it looks like i'll be playing $ 8/5/bonus.
