Gang,
Here's something for travelers to/from Las Vegas.
For those needing a new credit card......the Delta Gold AMEX card has a promotion until March 3, 2003. Pay the $85 annual fee and spend $5,000 in the first 5 months and you'll not only receive the 10,000 regular bonus miles on Delta but, an additional 15,000 miles. That's 25,000 miles. So, if you spend $25,000 on the card in the first year, you get 50,000 miles. That's good for 2 domestic roundtrips or 1 roundtrip to Europe. Here's the link......

If you don't have a Delta Skymiles account, I believe they give you bonus points for signing up. Make sure you have an account number before getting the card as they print your frequent flyer number on the card. Plus they offer doubles miles on certain purchases.
This promotion is almost as good as winning a Royal. Except....there's no risk. (Unless Delta goes out of business, but not likely!)

Sounds good for people who use credit cards a lot _ and pay them off in full every month.
   But I don't think I'll have $10,000 in charges all year, and that's with putting half the price of my new car on the credit card _ to be paid off in full immediately, of course.

Great post. Thanks. It only takes a TOTAL of $5000 charged over the
first 5 months to get the 15K bonus miles, for a total of 25K for $5K
charged.

Considering SW Airlines will be increasing the amount needed to
charge per flight credit from $1K to $1.25K around April 1st, the
Delta card will be a great alternative.

The double miles at USPS, grocery stores, and gas stations is another
great benefit.

Thanks for the heads up on this great offer. A RT for $85 + $5K in
charges is tough to beat!

  Another problem is that Amex is not as widely accepted as Visa

and MC. It might be hard spending that much on Amex.
