We had a reservation with Fox for Dec. 26 for 5 days at $15 per day. When
we arrived at their site at 11:00 A.M. on the 26th we were told that they were
out of economy cars! They had some mid-size cars available for $30 a day.
All car rental companies that I have ever dealt with offer to upgrade at no
additional cost if the promised car is not available. When I mentioned that
to the clerk, she indicated that was not their policy and they would take us
to our hotel and call us when an economy car became available. We needed a
car as we were meeting some friends in Las Vegas and didn't want to sit in a
hotel room waiting for a call from Fox. We paid the $30 a day and vowed never
to rent from them again! They can't have many repeat customers with their
"bait and switch" approach, but in a place with as many visitors as Las Vegas
maybe they don't care. I had two future reservations with them, which I have
canceled!!
