.....

I guess that what this all comes down to, is the strong belief that
we should all be free to post our opinions (including those that may
seem outragious to the majority of us) as long as the posts are
civil and within the realm of polite discourse.

Cheers,

Babe, I was going to make this a private email but decided to post to the
board as issues like this come up quite often.

I'll acknowledge your points about free speech & the limits under which they
are exercised.

I am kind of tired of going down this road, as any discussion seems to be
turned into a for-or-against so I'll try to navigate carefully.

In defending ROJ, you need to recognize that he wanted free speech for
himself but took umbrage when others disagreed with him or said something he
didn't like. There were also long stretches when he dominated discussions. That
would have been fine if he'd kept to the facts but so many posts included
personal rebuttals/attacks to perceived slights or disagreements.

Some people enjoy the "Jerry Springer" aspect of discussion groups & love it
when people mix it up. For me, it's low-brow entertainment & I've got better
things to do. So you probably didn't notice when ROJ was at his finest, that
I & others like me left for long stretches of time.

Honestly, I would not mind if ROJ started posting again if he would just
check all that baggage he carries.

If he does bring all that baggage on board again, then I'll take another
flight.

With all due respect to your point of view,

Glenn

Hi Glenn,

I appreciate and understand your viewpoint.

I also despise Jerry Springer and all the other sleazy talk show
hosts, with their boring programs, populated by the unfortunate,
and largely illiterate, dregs of society.

After the last go-round, regarding ROJ, I made the decision to
comment no further on this thread. It's old and tired, and we all
have better things to post about.

My best to you.

Babe
