XVP - Expensive Airfare

I'm trying to go to Las Vegas June 22-25 flying from Ohio. I can't find
any airfare under $350. I've tried everything, expedia, travelocity,
southwest airlines, priceline. I'm trying to fly out of Cleveland,
Canton/Akron, or Columbus.

Do you think airfares will go down soon? Or should I bite the bullet
now and pay $350. I don't want to take a red eye home.

I've never flown to Las Vegas for over $250 but I haven't bought a
ticket there in about three years.

Any help?

DID u try sw out of pittsburgh was like 99 non stop each way

I usually fly Southwest but they are expensive now. I just checked
for Pittsburgh. They want $434!

We fly South West. If you purchase a ticket, and there's a lower fare,
they will honor the lower fare if you call them.

I'd buy SW and install their "DING" program. It's resident in your tray,
and when they announce lower fares a stewardess bell dings signaling a fare
sale from your choices of departing and arrival cities. Click the icon and
see the fares on sale. Most are good for only 24ish hours, or less.

find any airfare under $350. <<

Southwest fares have gone up in the past few months and their sale
fares are not as liberal as they once were. Although you can still find
an occasional $99 or less sale fare it may not be at a convenient time.
I got one at that price last week for a LV-Nashville flight for June 4.
SW's weekly sale fares are announced on Tuesdays so check each week.
You can receive email announcments of their weekly sales by signing up
at their website. Use their "Ding!" feature for daily sale offers also.
If you can wait to make plans and have some flexibility you might do
better than $350 RT.

I think if you keep checking you will find a cheaper fare. The key is to check and re check
for the next 30 days! They play/change these fares every minute of each day.

If you are anywhere near Toledo or Youngstown, Allegiant flys from those cities. Their home base is Las Vegas, and I am sure they will be cheaper than Southwest. Though it might not be cheaper to drive to another city with the cost of gas!

Not sure how far the Detroit airport is, but I'm
flying with Spirit on June 20-24 non-stop for $229.50
with everything included. A week after I bought the
tickets the price jumped $60, but pretty sure they
will drop again before too long as Spirit is always
running specials.

It's about 25 min from downtown Detroit and 40 minutes from downtown
Toledo.

I would have held out for a 21 day fare myself. The fares generally
don't go down on NW or other airlines until within 28 days of the
flight, but I think you got a good deal. Flying OUT of LAS I've done
NW for $184 r/t, but I think that fare is history. Flying INTO LAS is
usually more expensive, that "captive market" thing and all.

Register at Yapta.com

I love the digital goddess, Kim Komando. She has four free, digital
inf related, newsletters, several newspaper columns, a daily digital
minute, and the highest rated weekend talk show in the nation. I get
about one killer tip a week listening to her.

My problem is cataloguing all the great tips so I can go back to them.

One of her cool site of the day was Yapta.com It's free. You join.
Give Yapta your flight information and it monitors your fare to see
if the fare goes down.

When you asked I couldn't remember the www. Today I dumbed back onto
them by getting an email from them. I've used them before, and love
their free service.
