XVP: ENOUGH!

[Recently, one of our group members, larry@LED...., volunteered to disappear
from the group & other group members posted that they wanted him to continue
to participate. In a similar vein, I want Valerie to know that we think her
participation is also important to us. Will the silent majority please
welcome her?]

Steve, she is new in these parts, as she professed in a post 12/5 (#9743).

Your following replies to a newbie were severe, condescending & certainly not
typical of your other posts.

What started out as an innocent remark about Bob Dancer has resulted in
Valerie getting raked over the coals by two of our more experienced members
whose posts are normally more level-headed.

As a former newbie who has been through this sort of initiation (every single
group that I start out with), I just couldn't let this go without saying
something.

Valerie, this web site is not hosted in Augusta.

Your comments & contributions are welcome. Some of us do enjoy your fresh
outlook whether or not we agree with them is not important.

Honey, you must be new in these parts. As pointed out earlier, Harry has
that neat movie out about him - maybe you've heard of the Harry Porter
movies? And me? I'm a legend in my own mind.

As for you hon, maybe a little work on that CAPS key before you try the
water here again?

10. I appreciate the opportunity to offer my side of this. I would also

appreciate other's input.

Okay - here's my input. ENOUGH! You are beating a dead horse - get over
it!

Ted,

In reading this I paused over that "two of our more experienced
members" phrase and puzzled over who you were referring to in addition
to Steve. I even poured back through the thread without finding a
clear indication, and then it occurred to me that my name was the only
other one found in your email (quoted indirectly).

If it was indeed me that you had in mind, then consider this (Valerie
as well) as some cool water to extinguish those coals -- I'll even
toss some aloe in on the side

Valerie -- as Ted notes, we value each member around here.
Unfortunately, occasionally one or another around here wakes up with a
bee in our bonnet and before we realize what's going on manage to kick
the dog once or twice or toss out a bit of a flame here.

I look forward to your contributions (and those of some of the
"lurkers" who've been staying back in the shadows).

The good news is that I'm headed to AC this weekend and am in LV for
about 10 days after that so I'll be keeping to myself a little for a
change!
