XVP: Emergancy Mickey has been mugged

For some good laughs -

There are several people on the internet who bait the scammers by
pretending to be naive and play along.<<

The downside to playing along, as I found out, is that some of these
scammers are pretty well orgainized.

After one solicitation ("You have been recommended by the IMF to recieve
$1.5 milllion in abandoned funds at the embassy in Ghana") I send a sarcastic
reply and then actually got a phone call from a guy about the money.
(Sounded like a "boiler room" call.) I expressed some doubt, then he e-mailed
me a "certicate of authenticity" and a jpeg of a suitcase full of $100s.
Then he called me again, and e-mailed me this:

"I tried calling you twice yesterday but it was a miss call, i wanted to
inform you that i have arrive Pine Ridge Airport South Dakota. Be informed
that i am here to secure a Diplomatic Luggage Yellow Passage Identification
Card (D_L_Y_P_I_C) to pass your Diplomatic Luggage when it's get to the
Custom's Wing at the Elko Regional Airport. Yesterday I was informed by the
United Nations Ambassador Diplomat Alex O. Desmond that he has contacted your
with an Insurance Form for you to fill out and send back to him a scan copy
that would be tagged with your consignment box. I want you to kindly fill
out the form for him to leave the Kotoka International, Accra, Ghana."

When the guy called me AGAIN, he mentioned that, of course, the DLYPIC
would cost $1,100. Say what you will, but these guys do their homework....I
can see that after a while some folks might wind up buying into it.
