Can anyone give me information on the hotel part of this place? From
what I've read it has all kinds of fpvp; at least fpdw and 10/7 DB.
That will take care of me. I don't think that's the problem. I've
read some not so good reviews about the hotel. From what I've
gathered it's pretty run down, the rooms are dirty, and the walls are
less that paper thin. Are these comments correct, or do they come
from people who have had bad days on the vp machines? I have a two
night stay scheduled for the end or the month, and if this place is
really bad I want to get the reservations cancelled. Any
information you can give me will be appreciated. May the cards be
with you. Bill

I have never been disappointed in the rooms. But, I have always been
in the tower.
Give them reasonable play and they will be comped. In the tower, I
think that all rooms have a coffee pot.

We have stayed many times at the RP. I would recommend the tower rooms and NOT recommend the rooms in the three story section.
We get good comp offers, monthly checks, free nights, and free special events. We are very happy with the RP and their fpvp.
No hair dryers but they do have coffee makers, the soap and shampoo are "on the wall in dispensers". The buffet is sometimes hit or miss but the coffee shop is ok and the Italian restaurant is ok. Have not tried their "upscale" restaurant.

Sorry about this last post I was referring to the River Palms by mistake.
We have stayed at the Edgewater several times too. I would say that the
rooms are comparable to the RP, but some of the rooms at the EW are
quite a distance from the elevators.

I have stayed at the Edgewater many times. It is not the brightest
light in Laughlin, but the rooms are clean. The only thing I do not
like about them is the noisy air conditioner. I had a bad expierence
in the standard (non tower) rooms. The garbage trucks were backing up
(beep, beep, beep) every morning about 7AM outside of the window.
That is not good when you stagger in about 5AM. The have soap
dispensors on the wall, and I never have seen a coffee maker in the
room. The walls are not any thinner than any other place. Maybe I
have always had quiet neighbors. I have stayed in much worse places,
but the Edgewater is certainly not a candidate for a 5 star rating.
The steak house is good, the buffet has improved, and they have a
nice snack bar. They used to have a grandma type lady that would come
around and give out cheese and crackers and fresh cookies. They have
full pay VP at the bars, and free entertainment most nights. The
casino is always busy, so they must have something going for them. I
like the place.
