Sam's Town Housekeeping will call your room about 2PM, asking if you want your room cleaned, even if your "Do Not Disturb" sign is on the door. When Jerry, the hotel manager was asked about this, he offers to only note your record for th estay that you don't want to be bothered. Even if it's in your guest profile not to be disturbed in this manner, this never gets to Housekeeping unless your host makes a special call to them.
How absurd! I have never seen this problem anywhere else except at The New Frontier. The Golden Nugget downtown uses a much better alternative. If the Do Not Disturb" sign is on the door, they quietly slip a note under your door with the statement that you can call a number on the card when you want service.
Why hotels cannot trust adults to pick up the phone once they get up to call housekeeping I will never know.
I have tried unsuccessfully toget this asinine policy changed many times. The best I can do is have my host call housekeeping each visit. She has put it in her report many times, but apparently management doesn't care. If they think I will gamble more since they have waken me up earlier, are they wrong. Of course, if I play 100% games less as a result, they will lose less $$$$.
If anyone else has run in to this ridiculous policy, suggets complaining, may be they need to know that
"Do Not Disturb" means Do Not Disturb. The option of having callds blocked while sleeping is not an option here as of course I would want important family and friends calls to get through. My family and friends know my sleeping hours and wouldnot disturb me at the wrong time except in an emergency. It;'s a shame that Sam's Town Housekeeping department doesn't show this decency!
