In all the Triple Crown races the favorite is an overlay show bet[averaged
out over the years, get the charts and do the math]. For example, a few years
ago in a short field the favorite got third but paid, $2.80, would have paid
$2.10 or $2.20 in an ordinary race. Last time I checked betroyal.com gave a
10% rebate for all losing horse bets.
