Anyone see any advantage for changing from Embarq (formerly Sprint). There is a $9.99 installation charge and 9.36 monthly base rate which is only about a dollar cheaper than Embarq.

My phone line has never been down in the six years I've owned this
home. My cable goes out on a regular basis. The cable will have to be
uninterupted for a couple YEARS before I'd consider switching.
We can't use the Cox phone because our TiVo needs a land line to get computer updates. Ditto the need for opening the entry gate at our condo comlex. I hadn't thought of the cable being down, but that is another good reason not to go with the latest form of communications!

Thanx for all the list and private input. One person does have it and is satisfied so far. I may wait until it is more proven - or they run a special for free installation. Monthly fee is only about a dollar or so cheaper. By the way, this isn't available all over town, just in certain areas.

Did Cox Communications send you the rebate form? I'm getting mine
done this Wednesday and I received a letter from them yesterday for
confimation of service, but nothing is mentioned about a $100 rebate.
