The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond will issue gift certificates from their gift shop which can be redeemed for cash in the casino. I do not know if this is a common practice in other casinos.

Subject: [vpFREE] xvp - converting visa cards to cash
Date: Fri, 19 May 2006 21:44:53 EDTDoes anyone have any suggestions for converting Visa cards to cash without
paying extra fees? I'm getting a lot of Simon Visa cards, which I use to pay
bills, buy postage stamps, grocery shop, etc., but I'm starting to get more
than the bills I have. I'd love to be able to buy money orders or traveler's
checks with them, but that doesn't seem possible (for example the post office
will only sell money orders for cash). Somehow it seems like there should
be a way to buy say a gift certificate for something else with them, which is
refundable for cash (the Visa cards are not refundable), or something....
But I'm at a loss of an easy conversion route. Obviously I could sell them on
Ebay or to people at a discount, but I don't want to lose money. The best I
can figure out is to pay myself via Paypal for about 2.9% of face value, but
I'd rather not lose 2.9%!! So if you do have a suggestion, please email me
private if you don't want to post. Thanks - Misscraps
