Jeff: I cannot answer about New Orleans, but I play frequently at Shreveport. There are six casinos (5 boats and one slot casino at a local race track) all of which will require more play than you described for any comp. You might be able to get a buffet at the Isle of Capri or Boomtown with $15 play for 1-2 hours, but doubtful. Your coin in for VP will have to be much higher than you described.
By the way, Harrahs owns the casino attached the racetrack, so if you are a Harrahs Reward member, you might be able to get something based on your overall Harrahs play.
Good luck

I will be making a trip to New Orleans in a few weeks for a
conference. I will be staying near Harrah's, so I'm most interested
in that casino, but I'll also be passing through Shreveport and
Baton Rouge and would consider going to other New Orleans casinos.
Does anyone have any info on:
1) availability of comps for BJ? VP? I can't play for long -- 1
hour at a time, 2 hours tops. I also won't bet much -- $10-$15/hand
at most for BJ and quarter machines for VP.
2) availability of funbooks/coupons/matchplays/promos?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
