I've been considering taking (yet another) trip to LV in November to
visit Comdex (and of course to play some VP afterhours). I've never
been to Comdex, but I've read that LV jams up pretty good at that time
and rooms are difficult to come by. Is it true? Should I book a room
now while things are relatively quiet?
XVP - Comdex
At one time people were booking rooms in Mesquite and Primm for the
conference. Since 9/11 and the silicon valley meltdown it hasn't been quite
so bad but the town still fills up and the rates get pretty high. September
is by no means early to book for Comdex.

Las Vegas jams up and the prices climb, BUT, if you are a player you will be welcomed with open arms. The convention goers don't gamble enough, and the casinos really want players. Call the Casino that you have played the most at and speak to a Host, you should not mention the convention, and see what kind of rate you can get.
Book as early as possible , you can always change your mind later.
