I'm sorry I missed most of this thread. My hand was stuck under the glass
cover for the Sam's Town coffee shop salad bar. Then I turned green eating the
bar b que chicken. My friend didn't make matter's better by losing patience
with the lack of service and yelling, "HELP HELP OVER HERE" to get more coffee.
One good thing, the din of the conversation in the joint lowered so we could
hear each other talk. Anyway, maybe I felt so ill because of my two hrs play
on the Jacks progressive gave me a Royal scare every three hands.
Now. The original thread here was about WWW and the fifty cent Jacks. I
played it for a couple yrs. One machine near the cage, finally hit a Royal before
they took it out. The real fun was on the other side of the bank. Three FPDW
that were set the wrong way when Stations reduced the full pay machines to
half points. Only four players knew about them. You know the guy with the beard
who used to play the FPDW at PS who made you sorry you spoke to him by
reacting as if he was the real Uni Bomber. He was in on the play. The Players club
lady was just amazed at the number of drawing tickets I was earning weekly.
They drew like twenty numbers and I always hit at least twice. What prizes
you ask? Thanks for asking, $10 off food in the worse than Sam's Town coffee
shop. Just like a TV news anchor I used to know could tell he was about to be
fired when the boss stared at him funny from the control room, I knew the two
points for one buck ducks were going bye bye when the new WWW casino manager
was sitting at a nearby row glaring at me when I was talking to the truckers
next to me playing nickle keno while playing said ducks. I actually didn't
think he knew what I knew but he didn't like that I didn't look like a trucker.
No more brilliant convos like, "Is it raining in California?" "Yep, had to
put on my tarp at Mineola."
I asked a change guy what the new Stations casino on the WWW site was going
to be called. He said, "Project B is all I know." I found out the real name
later, "West of NYNY Station." And since the Fertitta boys plan on keeping the
truck stop, another name that was a runner up was... "Fuel Station"
