There are also 'fees' that may not be covered by your personal auto policy, these are along the lines of admin fees for 1st or 3rd party administration of the 'claim' process

The only thing that your personal insurance may not cover is "Loss of Use" This is rent-a-car jargon for not being able to use the car for rental while it's being fixed. That also adds a few buck to the daily charge. I never get it and have rented from Budget without problems. The last time out to Vegas I reserved a compact and got a full size brand new Mercury Montego.Total cost for 5 days (with taxes, etc) was around $160.
Make sure you walk around the car and note any dings and dents before you leave the lot.

I noticed one thing, nobody includes the LDW insurance when posting
about rental fees. Thats 14,99 a day extra en makes it rather
expensive. Do you not take any insurance?
