OK, I gotta brag here. We (2 people) booked awhile ago for our Late Oct trip. We ALWAYS use Thrifty, and since we typically arrive LATE night, we book the cheapest compact available as they hardly EVER have them and always upgrade us for free. Last time we drove a beautiful Chrylser 300 for the week, awesome.
Anyway, for our Oct trip we have reserved a compact for a full week, total with all the taxes and fees is....$133 (using a 10% discount code we found online, SAMS I think.)
TIP...use the Blue Chip club, you get a special line so almost no waiting, and then right to your car. With Thrifty, they give give you your contract and then send you to the lot to pick out your car and drive away.
Now, I know, some people have abolute rental car requirements, so this process may not work for everyone, but hey, we're here to gamble...so why not start at the Rental car counter? <G>
NOTE: I just checked current rates for this same time frame and even with Thrifty, it would be $196 total.
The other rule is KEEP CHECKING, even after you make a booking. They are contastantly changin UP and Down.

Subject: [vpFREE] XVP-car rental in Las Vegas
I'm going to LV in november for 13 days. I've checked various car rental companies and the rates I get back (all inclusive) are over $ 500. This seems a bit steep to me. Is this normal for car rental at McCarran Airport??
