XVP: Caesars Indiana faulty machine

I hope someone else finds it funny that the machine in question was an
Easy Money slot machine. Now Caesars wants money back from players. In
one example, I agree with them. A woman patron that was apparently on
to the gimmick inserted $100 and immediately cashed out a $1000 ticket
without even playing. Now I am no big fan of casinos, but that is
outright cheating or fraud.

Others may disagree.

Interesting.

So if the lady had played a few spins, are you saying that thats
alright? How about a couple of hundred spins? At what point does it
become alright? Or are you saying everyone who played the machine is a
cheat and a fraud?

In the Caesars IND episode, IMO it's pretty clear that there was some
nefarious activities....but you won't soon see me crying a river for
management (or for those who were dumb enough to actually insert a
players card!).

Back in the day, I wonder how many VPFree members received checks in
the mail from a casino that discovered they had a coin dropper that was
consistently short paying during large coin cashouts? I'm sure most
VPF members were diligent enough to confirm the count but consider how
many drunk ploppies received the shaft.

Of course, there were numerous instances of machines overpaying coins
and any player who took advantage of those situations was considered a
cheat, right?

Whether it was a big corporation or a amall operator shouldn't matter.
They configured the game and put it on the floor. The woman in
question might be guilty of greed, but certainly not cheating or fraud.

Back when Prairie Band was Harrah's and had coin droppers, one of the
AA machines would start dropping coins and not count at all.
eventually the machine would think it was out of money and lock up.
The first time this happened, I made sure I got at least my money and
left the uncounted money and called for somebody to fix it. They
asked if that money in the tray was mine, it was probably $20 in
quarters, and I explained what happened and that it is their uncounted
money. They eventually "fixed" the machine. The second time it
happened 10 minutes later, I cashed out and again told them the
machine was messed up and went to a different machine at the bar, when
there was AA at the bar. I changed machines because I didn't want
them to think that I was taking "advantage" of the machine. Now a
coin here or there in my favor, that was just making up for the
occasional short-coin those machines where known for. I love TITO!

I am one who disagrees.....knowingly taking advantage of a fault is
stealing. What about if a Coke machine accidentally dispenses all its
cash when you get a bottle? Do you keep the money and consider it screw
you its your fault you gave it to me OR do you return the money to the
vendor knowing it really is their's and not yours? The fact it is a
casino and people want revenge for losing money is not a reason to take
the low road in my mind.

RIGHT.. If I catch someone cheating machines, I make a citizens
arrest untill management can call the cops. I do my part.

Geeze, thanks Curtis

I like the posts you make too.

Sometime my posts are a little off the wall. Many take issue with
me leaning toward distrust of the manufacturers and casinos. Mostly
I leave the math to the math guys. I know everything there is to
know about vp, though. In fact, just this morning my wife told
me, "You think you know everything." She has wisdom beyond her years.

I believe too many of us here take things too serious. Give the
other guy a break and don't bust his chops when it's perceived they
posted something wrong. The key word is "perceived". We have all
been guilty of this at one time or another. Here we are pros,
recreational or new to vp. Sometime the "old dogs" seem to forget
that. Sometime the "NEUVO old dogs" are not so nice.

All the vp info we need to know is right here. A search of this data
base of posts tells all. If it's not there we just ask and answers
are there.

Cheers Jeep

Another tip:

Don't let whitejeeps see you playing this type of machine!

Because, if he catches you, he will "....make a citizens arrest
untill management can call the cops."

Amazing.
