You can consider feigning some family emergency and check out. Or you can
keep the room and pass by, mess it up a bit and check out on the appointed day.
I have witnessed many of the local players get multiple rooms "just to have
them" and not stay in any of them. They use them more for rest stops if
they're playing at the property.
Sometimes in January if there is a room offer, I get a room at the Frontier.
Then I can take in the famous January sales across the street at the Mall and
use the room to rest. I do, however, put the required points/day to qualify
for the comp.
