This may only be of minimal help, but about five years ago there
were a number of class action (as well as individual) lawsuits filed
against Pulte, US, and several other developers for building in the
100-year floodplain in NW Las Vegas and other areas (fudging the
data, as it were). Anyway, ye olde 100-year flood did come, and
severely damaged dozens of new houses.
The only good this may do you is that the plaintiffs won their
cases, and whatever law firm handled this might be a good choice for
you, given that they a) have experience in these matters and b) won.
Of course, the names of the firm and the attorneys are public record.
You have a good chance at pursuing this kind of action as long as
you don't let yourself be fobbed off. The LV Valley builders have a
large amount of new home inventory that has to be sold within a
relatively short time. They DON'T want anything to affect sales at
this point; I would imagine that the amount of attention your
complaint receives will be directly proportional to the amount of
stink you raise.
