It now costs $3.00 just to get in to a taxi in Las Vegas. This latest increase of 20 cents from an already outrageous $2.80 flag drop is called a fuel surcharge. What is most interesting is that everytime in the fast there has been a "fuel surcharge" it eventually has become part of the regular rate. Also, when fuel prices have dropped (as they are doing now) ht eincrease has never been rescinded.
Thus even if you get an honest taxi driver (remember that the Review Journals article about 60% of the drivers tested taking ht elong way to the strip + downtoen via the Airport Runway tunnel) you now pay $3.00 to get in, $1.20 airport fee, $1.80/mile plus 20 cents for waiting time in traffic or at lights every 33 seconds. It is now cheaper to rent a limo by the hour if you are going anywhere other than downtown, the strip, or relatively close locations. It is amazing that the regulatory body keeps caving in to this greed.

Transfers (free with your paid fare of $1.25) to other destinations. If boarding on Strip buses Fare $2.00 Senior and Disabled 60 cents regular routes and $1.00 Strip routes. $5 24' pass avilable to anyone from driver for $5.
Paid shuttle services such as Las Vegas Limo, Beltrans, Lucky 777, Beltrans, etc.
Free Shuttles provide by some properties. Some places, especially non gaming motels near the airport ,and some gaming hotels may not openly advertise a shuttle but will frequently send a van to pick you up if a driver and van are available.
If you are a rated player your host might send a car or limo for you.
Therer all also shuttles between hotels (Sam's Town to Strip and Downtown, Coast properties has manu shuttles, and other properties have some, too. The Las Vegas Monorail starts service January 20, 2004.
