I believe if less of the dealings were private, some of the
"all pigs not being equal" perception would disappear
(or, less likely, bear itself out). From what little is made public,
that perception appears justified, even though worldbefree
has just made what appears to be a sincere apology for it.
Mark-
I'm mostly a lurker here myself, but as a moderator of a forum similar to this- I don't own the group, just help moderate it- I can say for a fact the job is very hard. And the fact that worldbefree's apology appears sincere to you should be a sign to you that perhaps what is going on behind the scenes is pretty fair.
Look, it is impossible to be completely impartial- we are human and we make mistakes. I trust that the administrator is trying their best to do so, and with all the great info that gets passed on through this group, obviously there are a lot of people that feel the same way.
As a moderator of a forum that has a topic- video poker in this case- their primary job is keeping things on topic. It is a fine line to know when to move a thread- obviously some folks would have wished the Dancer/Paymar thing would have been moved sooner, but there are others who want to see how it plays out. Sometimes a private message to someone that is pushing the line on a thread will get it back on topic. I know, because I've used the tactic myself. As the administrator, they have that option- heck they have the option to close the group if they want- but I would rather trust them to try to do this behind the scenes from time to time to keep the other good info going. I also feel that those that have been frequent, and valuable, contributors deserve more leeway. And if that is why not all pigs are equal, then so be it.
I say quit trying to look for the conspiracy, and enjoy vpFREE while it's here. The administrator is going to try to do their best- it won't always be perfect, but hey, for the price we are paying, I'm willing to give a lot of latitude. And I think the administrator deserves that from everyone here.
Would you not agree that those that do something because they enjoy it and are not just in it for the paycheck do a better job? Is this not the ultimate case of this? I don't recall getting a bill for my vpFREE membership.
JMO- Thanks, Lee.
