XVP:An open letter to the anonymous vpFREE administrator

I am normally a lurker, but I do thank and appreciate the
admin as well. However, I think he/she touched on one of the
problems below when (s)he said "much of it in private
dealings." I believe if less of the dealings were private,
some of the "all pigs not being equal" perception would
disappear (or, less likely, bear itself out) From what little is made
public, that perception appears justified ...

I believe that handling all administrative matters publicly would
be a lot worse. It could unnecessarily embarrass some minor
offenders and would be undesirably disruptive.

There does appear to be some "ineptitude", to use Admin's
word, on, for instance, what is considered an NPC, what
threads get moved, and who does/does not get
warned/disciplined. But maybe there isn't, and maybe if the
membership knew more about what was going on, we would have
a better idea.

From vpFREE Rules and Policies: "The vpFREE Administrative
Committee (a Dictatorship, hopefully benevolent) makes, interprets
and enforces the rules and policies for vpFREE."

In practice this responsibility is delegated to the Administrator.

I'm receptive to suggestions and questions about how the forums are
and should be run (use private email or post on FREEvpFREE),
but I don't intend to keep the membership informed about routine
administrative actions unless I consider it advisable. If this decreases
my approval rating, I can live with that.

It's not easy playing Solomon and it's often difficult to judge what
would have been the best course of action, even after the fact. I
make vpFREE decisions based on what I believe to be right and
fair and I'm satisfied with my performance.

I believe that the Admin's desires to remain anonymous and
to make arbitrary decisions on which disciplinary actions
do/do not become public come with a price -- that price
being the heartache so sincerely and eloquently expressed
below.

IMO the price would be a lot greater if my identity were known and
if all administrative decisions were decided by polling the members.

I'm posting this on FREEvpFREE also, where any responses to this
post should be made. Please use private email or FREEvpFREE for
all comments or discussions about how the forums are run.

Ahhhh.....What another great day in paradise today was. Family,
Thanksgiving dinner, a long walk, fun football games on the 65"

turkey buffets or to play for 'free' six-packs or 6X points or cheap
T-shirts or double gas etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. All you addicts
living in LV or other gaming towns: Remember what it used to be like
being normal??

But that wasn't the best part! I already knew the gurus were at each
other's throats, and anyone can and many already have read my GT
column on the subject that came out in the paper this past Tuesday
and is also up on the my site. Poor Dan Paymar....What'd he do--leave
Las Vegas because he just couldn't walk the talk he blabbed about in
his ultra-boring/repititious books? So his next best frustration-
beater is opening old wounds and lying about Dancer now? And what
about the little old lady from Indiana? Is there finally more people
than just me who can see thru her $3 bill show? One thing you can
always count on her for. If someone like Bob D. comes on any board
and says something about 'somebody' being a loser or 'somebody' who
hasn't got what it takes to be successful, Jean will predictably be
first in line to scream out "It's not me, my fans! It's not me!"
Which of course, we all know what THAT means.........

But it gets even better!! Little Dicky apparently is not doing well
at the machines either these days, so he's now turned on Dancer as
well as the VPFREE administrator with what looks like an overload of
illogic and an overflow of stupidity. The poor guy just doesn't
realize how foolish he looks as he literally CRIES OUT for the
attention that everyone else seems to be getting but him! No matter
how many times the ADMIN. responds with normal explanations, little
dicky has this insatiable need to make believe the point he tries to
make is the only right point obtainable anywhere on this planet. It's
absolutely HILARIOUS! watching such a dunce in action. And his
replies are so anal-retentive that it's as if he's tryint to tell the
world that if he can't have it his way at home, and if he can't have
it his way in the casino, then he's gonna take it out on whomever
writes something that makes sense---thereby irritating an already
unstable mind. If I'm thankful for anything this past year it's been
for the opportunity of having been able to watch this clown hurt
himself time and again, and his continual return to the whipping post
to take it over and over again. Oh what did I do to deserve this?!
