If you live in Las Vegas and play at anything like an
above average skill level at video poker than you
prolly get way more free food than you can ever eat. I
do, about nine meals a day. With that we still have to
visit the market once in a while to buy cat food,
laundry soap etc. You ever walk down the meat case and
notice a huge section of chicken, a huge section of
beef, a slightly smaller section of the other white
meet (pork) then... a sliver of a section of lamb?
It's so expensive nobody wants to buy it. Until just
recently the last time I remember eating lamb chops
was a the Caesars breakfast buffet. But now... lamb
chops are a fairly regular special at Ellis Island.
Yes Ellis Island, the same casino that is rumored to
have bought the Blue Angel Motel in order to have a
presence at the top of the expanding Boulder Strip.
I had the lamb chops at EI yesterday, four of them on
the plate. The price on the board is $12.99 (if you're
in the top two player levels it's free) and I'm sure
they take a loss at that even. But what a creative
idea, lamb chops. If you like this idea tell the Food
and Beverage guy Marcus to keep it up. I heard a rumor
they would have a lamb chops and eggs breakfast as a
regular item but not listed on the menu.
JT, still waxes nostalgic thinking of the long gone
pizza omelet at Denny's
