Due tobacco fumes and other items in the air at the casinos, I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion as what to spray in one's hotel room, especially on the A/C heating filters so as not be be exposed to allergens at least while in the room. Atle ast this way you can rest better. Thanks

XVP - Allergies in Vegas
It seemed as if my allergies were getting worse every
year that I lived here. I recently started eating a
gluten-free diet and my allergies have disappeared. I
also dropped 13lbs.

Febreze fabric refresher spray works well in tamping down tobacco
scent in a hotel room. It's potentially useful in reducing allergens
as well.
Febreze is a scented corn starch solution that both breaks down odor
causing molecules and binds them into the fabric, curtailing further
release into surrounding air.
When it comes to dust particles, pollen, mold, pet dander, etc.,
Febreze is less effective, since you're not merely trying to reduce
the dissemination of odor. However, while standard Febreze is only
moderately effective in reducing particulate matter in the air, P&G
has introduced an "Allergen Reducer" version that's very effective at
locking down such particles.
The only drawback to Febreze is that while some find the scent
pleasant, others are almost as disturbed by the scent as the odor it
eliminates.

The gluten free diet stinks. You cannot eat anything with wheat, rye,
barley or malt. I have celiac disease and must adhere to the diet or I get
sick. GF food is very expensive. Its hard to find good food, but I have
found several companies with great food. Food's by George has excellent
pizza, pound cake, brownies and cookies.
If you are someone who likes pizza, pasta, or bread, GF diet can be tough.
You can basically eat any fruits, veg, protien, provided they are not cooked
on the same surface or with the same cookware items with wheat, rye, barley
or malt are cooked with.
I'm glad he has lost weight. Since I was diagnosed I have gained 40 lbs.
However, my md states I gained the weight because my body was in starvation
mode for along time. I used to be able to eat what I wanted and didn't
really gain any weight. Now it stinks.
Over all GF diets are very helpful. They are now being recommended for ADHD
and autistic children.
If you want more information go to www.celiac.org. (A very good resource)
Hope that helps.

PF Changs has a gluten-free menu. I think I have lost
the weight because no more bread or cakes for me. I
have eaten the a flourless cake there that is really
good. Also, I eat ice cream, sorbet, or fruit for
dessert. You have to be very careful and read the
labels. It surprised me that licorice has wheat as
one of the main ingredients. I also miss pizza but
have not had any of the gluten-free pizza. I was at a
birthday party for my daughter's friend and all they
had to eat was pizza so I took the cheese off with the
pepperoni. I am not so sensitive that I can't eat
items that are prepped in the same kitchen but I still
try to avoid them.

one of the products i use is a nose filter from betterbreathers.com
i have terrible reaction to cigarette smoke . i get physically ill from it.i tried these nose
filters and they work great. the best part is the that they are very hard to detect that you
are using them. here is an excerpt from the web page.
Better Breathers(tm) are mainly applicable for:
dusty environments
oversensitivity to animal allergic substances
sensitivity to automotive exhaust fumes
sensitivity to tobacco smoke
air-conditioned rooms
sensitivity to most other substances which cause allergic reactions
helping prevent snoring
aiding in freer breathing during strenuous activities
hope this helps.
