After trading a few more emails, Alamo has made another concession. Alamo corporate said that the decison to give a replacement vehicle is at the discretion of the local office. Corporate agreed that not providing a car and charging an early termination fee was excessive. Alamo corporate is refunding my $15 early termination fee, which becomes $19.34 after tax and tip. So, my rental car charge is about what I originally contracted. The only difference is I had the vehicle for 3 days instead of 6.
So, it sounds like Alamo corporate is ok and Alamo at McCarren is a bunch of dirtbags.
