There was a guy on the Art Bell radio show promoting a book on germs
and how to fight them with his anti germ chemicals. He painted a sad
picture of billions of germs everywhere and washing our hands did no
good in removing them. A guy called the show, a doctor. He explained
there are billions of germs everywhere and washing our hands does no
good but... the body has a defense, the immune system. Bingo. The
wino who goes through your trash dumpster looking
for cans? Imagine how many germs he gets to touch and he never gets
sick. And you've seen him in the alley for years.

People fly.
People catch colds and flu when they fly.
People cough and sneeze on machines, door knobs, restroom equipment, etc.
Your hands contact their expectorants.
Your hands contact your mucous membranes around your face.
Your chances of catching an illness increases.

Safe?

or Sorry?

Why not just get a box of disposable examination gloves and carry
around with you.

It could CAUSE an allergy to latex. And this is more likely than my
Asthma rant.

This is okay, so long as you don't say "Turn your head and cough" to
any of the guys.

Last time I was approached by an exam glove I was inclined to do a lot
more than cough. (If I recall correctly, I had to restrain a
reflexive backward kick ...)
