I have been reading a bit about SP lately and it just so happens I'm looking for a new home. I usually play at Stations (Sunset,Red Rock, and GVR. My last trip I lost $2,000. at RR, then went to Sunset and pumped thru $150,000 in five days. They gave me a room comp and the ONLY thing other than the room I asked for was a full/partial comp for my dinner at the steak house ($500. charge) and they refused to take anything off that charge. My host stated that I MADE $500. for the five days. Okay, I know they are in financial trouble, but was that an unusual request? Maybe I'm out of touch these days. In any event does anyone know what I could expect at SP for similar coin in at that location. (I played mostly fp vp in the .50/1.00 range.) Thank you, Rod...
xvp-A South Point Question
You could expect to get your room comped, along with a reasonable amount of food charges. My host there is Kelly Lumpford, give her a call and discuss your play and expectations with her. She will probably book you in at casino rate and then review your play for comps etc. I think you will be pleased with the outcome if you are putting through $30,000 per day as you said.
Regards
A.P.

You put through an average of $30,000 per day on the best video poker and won. The best you could hope for would be comps above the room of about $75-$100 per day. I am surprised that they would not comp at least part of the bill.
As to South Point, they do take into consideration win/loss however I believe they would have comped part or all of the $500 charge but that probably would have maxed you out for comps.
South Point is generous with room comps but has tightened on food comps.

When I first played at the M Resort May 2009, I gave them 18,000 pts of play (VP & Slots), and was comped $192 towards food, but they refused to comp rooms at that level, suggesting that I stay at South Point & play at the M.
1.1% comp x $150,000 = $1,650 comps.
I don't have a long background with comps (and don't watch all the free play rates like the bigger VP players on this board), but it seemed to me that many casinos were comping about 3-4X the earned free play (for combined VP & slots).
1.0-1.5% seemed a decent comp rate.
However, I've always had better luck asking for comps when I'm losing (so I hate putting anything on my hotel bill - also, I don't usually play high enough for full RFB). Often if I lose a lot, I don't try to get the money back at the same casino. ...and I ask for comps to shows/dinners right after I lose a lot.
A nice thing about playing at the Las Vegas Hilton is that they combine cash-back/comps at a 0.8% rate (non-VP), 0.4% (VP), which you can just cash at the counter. Or perhaps they do have comps that don't show up on the card for players bigger than me.
Maybe some more experienced people can offer better numbers on comp rates.

My wife and I stayed at South Point twice last year and our combined play is just a little less than your play. Trip one we played $144,000 thru over five days. Very nice trip, winning usually is, ended ahead total of $1129. We had mailed offer for two nights in suite, booked that and was put in for next three nights at casino rate on suite which was $150 per night. At end of trip we had about $400 total food on room. Host comped suite for all five nights but would not comp any of food, said we only played enough to comp the suite for the five nights. Second trip we played $123,000 thru and lost $1685. Stayed in regular room and they comped room for five nights and all the food, I think a little less than $400 total in food. We play quarters, usually 9/6 spin poker and 8/5BP super times play.

In the same area is the Silverton, and I'm sure they'd take great care of you. Go speak to my hostess Joanie Robinson (off Sun-Mon) and tell her I sent you.
