Easier said than done.

I pounced on this Tuesday morning as soon as I received their weekly
email. Results?

FARE CLASS Buffalo > Reno RETURN
$99 Internet special unavailable unavailable
$211 Fun fare " Available
$236 Advance purchase " "
$289 Restricted " "
$299 Refundable anytime Available "

BEST AVAILABLE PRICE $299 + $211 = $510 before surcharges.

I've been receiving their weekly emails for 2 years now, and have yet
to actually find an available flight at the "special" price.

As far as I'm concerned, this is no more than a bait-and-switch
tactic by Southwest.

Have any of you had better luck?

Yeah! I do, all the time. But I live in Seattle, where fares are always very low to
Reno on Southwest & on Alaska Air. Maybe it's the healthy competition that keeps
the fares down. $150-$180 R/T all the time. 3 non-stops daily for each airline,
each way. I go Southwest because they have later return flights from Reno. Plus
they only offer the deal on so many seats per flight, so you gotta be flexible with
your dates. Southwest isn't even close to the other airlines in rip-off capability. I
trust them!

I moved to Seattle 25 yrs ago FROM Buffalo. I know Southwest just recently
(meaning 2 or 3 yrs ago) added Buffalo to their route. No doubt there is no cheap-
fare competition from other airlines for the Reno flight. I'll bet there aren't many
flights each day on SW BUF-RENO and I'll bet the flight(s)are NOT non-stop. If you
really got an urge to take the trip, you should be checking daily. Seat(s) might
open up. Too bad you missed the special fare. Keep trying!

In the meantime, I hope you are stopping in at the Seneca-Niagara casino. The VP
is not THAT bad, best is $5 9/6 JoB, but there was also some playable deuces & DB
at .25/.50/$1. But what do I know, I've fallen off the FP bandwagon. I know I was
up over $1K after about 20 hrs there last Jan., on vp only. Nice & clean, I hope it
hasn't gone to crap already, it's only been open 8 months! Keep us posted.

Right on both counts (they connect thru Vegas).

Unfortunately the "Featured Destination" $99 specials only seem to be
available for a 72-hour window. I've tried accessing their site
beyond that, and the page is always gone. Besides, I go to Reno for
trade shows on specific dates, so I really can't pick and choose.

I'm a quarter player - I gave Casino Niagara my business until they
took out the 9-7 DB. Now I stick to the FP Pickem at Woodbine. Next
time thru I'll check out the DW & DB at Seneca.
