most of the show will be about ultimate bet(not absolute), but both
are owned by the same company.
To date there have been 88 superuser accounts, acounts where the
player could see the other players hole cards, found on Ultimate
Bet. The superuser accounts were written into the software by the
manufacturer, Excapsa, initially so they could sse that the cards
were dealing at random. But greed being what it is....Russ Hamilton,
the 1994 WSOP winner is the alleged mastermind. Superuser accounts
were traced all the way back to his house in Las Vegas.
There are some very sharp online poker players out there who used
computer analysis to demonstrate that some accounts were winning at a
rate that would be impossible. Most of the money was taken in the 25-
50 and 50-100 no-limit games.
Tokwire, the current owners of UB, sued Excapsa and settled out of
court for $15,000,000. They have used the money to reimburse the
players who were cheated.
The poker world is not fond of UB anymore. UB has to advertise and
bring in new players ignorant to the scandal to get any business.
