It would be good if "profit" would be removed from health care. We need

Absolutely!!
There is an interesting article in Forbes (Feb.) about the problem hospitals
have with MRSA, the run-away super infection-Methicillin resistant
staphylococcus aureus (sic) that is hammering public hospitals, elderly healthcare
facilities, and even some day-care facilities. But primarily it is prevalent in
the large public ( read not-for-profit hospitals) where folks are looking
the other way. In fact they refuse to release their infection rates to
government organizations it is so out of hand.
Now small for profit boutique-like hospitals primarily for elective surgery
are putting in place strict rules on such preliminary behaviors for medical
providers (as washing hands, wearing gloves, keeping rooms immaculate) that
their infection rates are unbelievably low. The medical profession is screaming
and wants laws pasted to forbid the practice of recording infection rates at
hospitals so as not to have to compete with these torts frightened boutique
for profit hospitals.
I say--why shouldn't human beings be treated as well as computers, and
animals??? What is wrong with cleanliness to fight MRSA??? The medical field is
fast becoming unaccountable again--maybe we should look at "PROFIT" again?? If
you keep pulling the teeth of attorneys--those horrible fighting predators
that use to be at the heels of the medical profession--we will sink further into
the dark ages. The high cost of malpractice insurance of physicians and
hospital is because of tort attorneys they argue--think about what they are
saying--is the high cost of car insurance due to the attorneys too--or is it maybe
the accidents that happen with cars?
