I live in Carson City and enjoy it here very much. There is an excellent
quality of life here and plenty to do. Depending on where in Reno you need
to go, it is about 25-30 mins from my office in Carson. Housing has been
increasing due to a high influx of Californians, but its all relative-might
be a bit of a shock coming from Alabama, though. Median house in Carson is
about 280K, less than that in the more rural outlying areas. More
importantly we have very good VP in Carson City between the Nugget and the
Fandango, as well as 30 mins from Tahoe, not to meniton 30 mins from
Reno-depends on your game, I play in all 3 places depending on my mood and
bankroll.
