I must apologize for my double posting concerning poker. I
have been having trouble with my yahoo email account for a
couple days. I thought the first message hadn't gone
through, but when I realized it did, I deleted the first
one.

I really would appreciate the second message moved back to
VPFree. Subjects on FreeVPFree usually aren't taken
seriously and usually just die there quickly unless they are
controversial. My question is not controversial and in my
opinion as relevant as talk of buffets etc.

Please reconsider as I do value the opinions of this group.

An occasional factual post on live poker is OK on vpFREE,
but discussions should be on FREEvpFREE or vpFREE_Online.

FWIW, my gambling history includes blackjack, live poker
in bricks and mortar casinos, video poker in bricks and
mortar casinos and live poker online. For the last 10 years
or so, I've mostly done the last two, and recently I've been
increasing my online live poker and decreasing my video
poker.

On the internet there are always concerns about collusion
and how prevalent it is. Also I have to believe a lot of
the survivors of the last few years are the people who play
most profitably, making the competition very stiff.

I don't worry too much about collusion, which isn't that
easy to do effectively. Cheating by insiders has been a
problem in a couple of instances, but I only play on sites
where I don't believe it will happen, and it would probably
happen at larger stakes than I play.

Poker in casinos seems like it is a bit easier, but there
are still a lot of competent veterans there. Then the rake
of 10%, maximum of $4.00, is a huge factor that is tough to
beat.

I haven't played much in casinos for a long time because
I can find good games 24/7 online, the rake is lower, and
it's a lot easier to play at home than having to go to a
casino.

Overall I think the odds are long against winning for the
average guy. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

The average guy is going to lose because he isn't going to
devote the effort that's required to be a winning player.
