Wynn Resort Free Night Offer

We just returned to LV from Seattle, with mail for 2 free nights at the
Wynn Resort. So we spent the last two nights there, with a
friend who was already booked those nights. IMHO there is a lot
to like about the place. The room was definitely a cut about. It
looks like a "normal" room at first glance, but there are so many
refinements it isn't typical at all. I also like the relatively small
size of the casino floor (compared to the other huge new casinos). It
was crowded, but we never had to wait in a line, except for coffee in
the Cafe in the morning. My wife also got the offer, so we'll spend
two more nights there in mid December.

Just don't ask how the gambling went!

We also just returned from the first of our two offers. I totally agree with Brumar that The Wynn is superb! The food, room and amenities are awesome.

However, what was not mentioned is that the two free nights offered are deducted from your comped account. I had chatted with a host about this situation. He admitted there have been many complaints regarding this omission.

Wynn is expecting 3800 points per night or 7600 points for the two night stay. Since 1 point is earned for every $9.00 played, I believe that means $68,400 coin-in for the 2 nights must be played to keep your comps from previous play. The host stated that Mr. Wynn spent 2.7 billion and had to recoup his money some way.

As some of you know, there are only 4 FPVP left. My guess is that these will be gone shortly. So, we'll be staying for our 2nd set of free night and eating at the wonderful buffet. If FPVP is still there, we'll play. If not, oh well.

Well, then they are committing fraud by posting (on electronic signs all over the casino) specific point requirements for comps (e.g. 3,000 for a show ticket, 850 for the cafe) and not putting in writing what they ding you for if you take them up on their "free" mailed offer. I would be P.O.'d if I checked in on a free mailer offer, then played 6,000 points to get Avenue Q tickets and was told that I hadn't earned squat. They deserve to be stiffed.

I assumed those signs meant you could REDEEM that number of points for the
comp instead of FreeCredit(TM). Is that incorrect?

Apparently, they ding your comp account for the points (either when you make your reservation or when you check in -- I'm not sure which). Regardless, after you've checked-in, your account is "in the hole." You then have to bring your comp point balance back to a positive number before you're able to redeem anything. Comp points are different from free play, which seems to be unaffected by this.
