Wynn LV Reduces Deuces Paytables

Reports from reliable sources say that Wynn LV has reduced the
paytables for the 25c/50c/$1 Deuces to 15/11 NSUD (99.96%).
The 10/7 DB, 10/6 DDB and 9/6 JoB paytables remain unchanged.

Here's a link from Slots Today Online which discusses the situation
and predicted this action:

The 15-11 is really fun to play-Skip Hughes and I were debating what
name to give it. I vote for Expert NSUD.

Amusing article. I'll also chime in that in this case you have to
give Rob his due -- word is that he was also instrumental in advising
a pull back to 15/11 rather than a cut to the weaker NSUD found
elsewhere on the Strip. Of course, he'll spin this one for some time.

btw, my vote @ 99.96% is for NWD -- "near-Wynn ducks".
However, in keeping with the times, perhaps WMD might be more
appealing (Wynn mega-resort ducks -- ok, so I'm a little weak on the "M").

- H.

I like APDW (Almost Positive Deuces Wild).

There was 15-11 for a couple months last year at Railroad Pass on the
Spin Poker machines. With the .75% card on Thurs, it was a good play.

It plays closer to NSUD, except there are more SF draws of all kinds,
including SF2, open. Although most can probably play it to 99.9
%without much pain, getting to optimum play is a challenge.

How about SNSUD (Super Not So Ugly Deuces)? Also, does any other LV casino have 15/11 versus the standard 15/10? I would definitely make 15/11 my second choice if FPDW was not readily available.

Well, with the belligerent person that I am, I still like Harry Porter's suggestion
best: WMD.

I'll vote for WMD also. We can call them the Wynn Mighty Ducks. That should give a little strength to Harry's "m".

I switch my vote to APDW (the Administrator's idea) in the desire/hope/prayer that some more LV Strip establishments switch from 99.7 to 99.9. :<) Although only .2 more average payback, my brief testing indicates that the 99.9 strategy is more complicated than 99.7.

P.S. to the Administrator: This looks like a good poll question.

Ooh, I like that! (No doubt, on a fresher mind, that's the "M" that
was trying to pop out

I propose "NQSUD" or "Not-Quite-So-Ugly-Deuces"...;}

Actually, I dislike "NSU" because it's a relative term - "Not So Ugly" to whom, or compared to what? As most of you know, it's "Not So Ugly" as "Ugly" deuces, which has an even lower EV. But compared to FPDW, NSUD *is* ugly!

I would prefer to call NSUD "16/10/4 Deuces" or "99.73 Deuces" or something else descriptive, but those are so wordy and NSUD is so ingrained that I guess we're just stuck with "NSUD".

I thought you had a variation on the Ugly thing - something like Not Ugly At All. I think that's what I labeled them on on the vpinsider games table. But that's pretty much tired isn't it. How about Decent Deuces <g>? No... that would clash with Double Deuces. :
Acceptable Deuces or Adequate Deuces (ADW)
Okay Deuces (ODW)
Suitable Deuces (SDW)

P.S. I guess I lost out in the pool. I had predicted the FPDW would last until Friday. (Didn't think they would short them until at least a couple of days after the GT article, but as I noted then, there is a precedent).

I would have had Monday in the pool myself. My original moniker was
NBAA (not bad at all), but I like Expert NSUD better. You can play the
16-10 strategy on the 15-11 game and lose relatively little. If you
can make a few changes, like play 2274s, etc. over 22, you can get
close to 99.9.

I still think the right idea is to have challenging full pay games
there. The Wynn folks just need to trust me on this. After all, I have
a better resume than most of their suits.

Hey Rob, here are some more ideas for Wynn to increase the play on their VP inventory and to become the "Best VP on the Strip":

1. Increase the slot club cashback from .22% to .3% or higher, or offer a higher tier, or multipoint day(s).

The Venetian offers .2% base and .3% for Gold. MGM/Mirage properties are .33%. Coast is .3%. Get in the ballpark. Coast does 2x point days several times per month. MGM/Mirage offers 2x Holiday Points. Venetian 2x Grazie Gift Shop Points.

2. Offer better VP inventory above $1 level.

JOB at 99.54 is not a good play with only .22% cash back...how boring! How about also offering your new 99.96% Deuces game at $5/$10/$20/$25? Or, gods forbid, 10/7 Double Bonus (since its a "sure" winner for the casino with a 2% avg hold)?? Coast offered 99.73% "NSU" Deuces at all properties at high denominations until just recently; why not take over the lead?

3. Send Mailers to Locals

No better way to bring in the locals than a monthly mailer with coupons for food, cash, free play, or whatever.

Fellow VPFREE members, please chime in! Maybe Rob can use his influence for a Round 2.

John
